Do you want your little kiddo to learn all about horses? If so, this is for you!
Child Lessons are for kids ages 7 and younger! However, this doesn't mean that your student won't learn, ride, or get to do the things that normal students will. Child Lessons are kept short and sweet, so that young students don't get too hot and exhausted. Children are also led on horseback. They still learn how to turn, stop, and go, but handlers are always there to have an extra safety line on their horse. Children's Lessons are 30 minutes long and cost $40. Scroll and see if this would be the right fit for your little wrangler!
We have lots of fun games and exercises that grow your bond with the horse and your little wrangler!
Children will learn all about horses in a simple easy to easy-to-understand way! They will learn:
How to act around horses
Horse safety
How horses think
Parts of the horse + parts of the saddle
Different kinds of tack and their names
How to get on and off a horse
How to stop, turn, and make the horse go
How to brush and wash a horse
How to lead a horse and more!
When you show up to your lesson, wait for me to come and pick you up from your vehicle at your designated lesson time. You are welcome to come along with your student, stay in your vehicle (if the child is old enough), or watch from up close! (If you have a student who is under the age of 3, a parent or guardian MUST ride with the child.) I always make sure the student is comfortable and confident while working with the horses. If the student is not ready to get on the horse or do something with the animal, we can work through it. Horses are big animals, so it isn't uncommon for little ones to be a little nervous.
Your First Lesson: Our very first lesson will be kept simple and fun! We will cover horse safety, including how to act around the horses: no running, don't go near their bums, etc. Then the student will get to ride the horse and play some games while horseback, learning along the way! Once that is finished, the student may hug their horse, review what they learned, and be on their way! This is a very similar setup for future lessons, but some days they will vary. For example, if it is very hot one day, we may give the horse a bath! (Note: My main priority is for the student to be safe and have fun. So, if the student was really looking forward to riding, then we can ride instead of washing the horse.)
Taffy and Muffins can't wait to meet you!!
