Jaggs will be available for adoption after the Branded Bonanza challenge on the 4th and 5th of July!
Jaggs is a Mustang yearling gelding out of Twin Peaks HMA. We picked him up on the 22nd of February 2025. Jaggs will be competing in the Branded Bonanza challenge at the Ford Idaho Horse Park on the 4th and 5th of July! Feel free to watch us compete and meet him!
What Jaggs can do & has done:
Halter-broke:
Easy to catch: Jaggs has learned to come when called (motioned to).
Voice Commands: If Jaggs is ever running wild, you can quickly stop him with just a "whoahhhh".
Leads: Has been led by kids, family, students, and friends! He can walk beside your shoulder or behind you, whatever you prefer. He can cross over water, tarps, bridges, planks/wood, rocks, and more!
Ties: Jaggs is a champ when it comes to tying! I haven't tied him solid (ex. tied to a solid post, gate, or trailer). I use tie rings for safety, and he has had no accidents and respects the tie ring (he won't undo it).
Grooming/Brushing: You can brush Jaggs everywhere; he doesn't care! I have used all types of brushes and have combed his mane and tail. You can go behind him or under his neck.
Spray & Baths: I have bathed Jaggs multiple times, and he stands still when getting hosed off. He is also good with fly spray all over his body. (Note: I haven't/don't spray or hose his face directly.)
Feet: Jaggs picks up all four feet and has had two farrier treatments with us. He stands still while you pick out his hooves, and picks up his feet willingly. He is doing well with the farrier and is continuing to improve! We have never had to drug him for the farrier!
Jaggs is going to be a big boy! As of now (1 year), he is 14 hands high and still very much growing. Jaggs gets along with other horses and Mustangs and is very calm. One day, while some of the horses were running, bucking, and rearing in the pasture, Jaggs just kept walking without a care in the world. He is very responsive and kind. He always wants to please, and he's smart, so he picks up on anything and everything lightning fast!
More Accomplishments of Sir Jaggs:
Round Penning: Jaggs is my round pen master! He knows voice commands and has cues that will send him in different directions and gaits. Jaggs can walk, trot, and lope with just a kiss and a point. I have had students/kids work with him in the round pen, and he did phenomenal. He will turn in and stop with a 'whoah', and can walk up to you if you wish with a subtle hand signal and click. Jaggs loves round penning, and he looks good doing it!
Lunging: Just like round penning, Jaggs has his lunging down to a tee! He can be lunged anywhere using a flag, whip, rope, or just your hand. He is very soft and doesn't pull away on the rope. He can walk, trot, and lope by raising your hand slightly and with a kiss.
Maneuvers: Jaggs has learned to do many different maneuvers over the last few months. Some maneuvers Jaggs has learned are, but not limited to: backing, yielding the hind quarters, side passing to and from the handler, flexing, and pivoting.
Obstacles: Jaggs has gone through and been around his fair share of obstacles over the last few months! He has gone through pool noodles, a curtain, cones, poles, tarps, gates, rope gates, barrels, trees, chairs, and way more! Jaggs has gone over tarps, water, rocks, bridges/wood, and steep hills. Tarps, balloons, ropes, saddles, flags, and more crazy items have sat/gone over Jaggs's back. Jaggs has pulled items, been around flags, rowdy horses, been out on trails, and has listened to music!
Saddled: Jaggs has been saddled with a kids' saddle and a bareback pad. I also set a large saddle on his back, which didn't fit, so I couldn't cinch him up. So, this saddle just sat on his back as I walked him a good length back to my facility. Did Jaggs mind? Not at all. He kept a large saddle balanced on his back all the way home (500ft). It almost slid off once, but when I pulled it back up on his back, he didn't care.
Body Work: Jaggs has had body work done! He didn't mind being touched, poked, and prodded at by the gal, despite being in a brand new environment!
Be prepared for Jaggs's world-famous side eye!!! 👀
Our family wants Jaggs to go to an AMAZING home. Someone who will love him and give him all the time, training, and attention he deserves. He is coming along to be a phenomenal horse for any discipline or job, and we want all his potential to come to reality. I fully believe that Jaggs is going to become an amazing all-around horse. He would be good for kids, trails, day work, or even an English discipline, and no matter what, he will make it look good! We want a family that will let Jaggs thrive and bring out the best in him and fully enjoy him. Jaggs is a sweetie and an amazing Mustang.
